Self-Study 1: Blender Basics
As part of the module, I was tasked with creating a barrel in Blender to familiarize myself with the software's tools. However, I didn't follow the tutorial provided in the module, as it was outdated and challenging to follow due to my limited experience with Blender. I found myself frequently having to search for settings that had changed across different updates. Instead, I chose to follow a video by Pixxo 3D. While the video moves quickly, it ultimately achieves the same result. I ended up with a decent-looking barrel—though I wouldn’t recommend looking inside, as I think I may have broken part of it (something I did with duplicating the rings didn't make Blender too happy). The exterior, however, looks fine. I used the same textures from the video, which are included in the attached .zip file in case they don't load properly. Overall, it was a great exercise that helped me learn the fundamentals of Blender. :)
